According to a survey conducted by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, 46% of Pakistanis chose their educational field under pressure from parents or family members.
A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the country, was asked the question “Please indicate whether the educational program/field you are studying in or have studies in is one that you chose according to your own preferences or whether it was chosen under pressure from parents or a family member?” In response, 40% said chose according to own preferences, 46% said chose under pressure from parents/family member, and 14% said they do not know or gave no response.
