History: Jackie Robinson played his only year in the Negro leagues with black baseball's most storied team. Pitching greats Satchel Paige and Hilton Smith were teammates. On April 16 Jackie had a tryout with the Boston Red Sox, along with fellow Negro leaguers Sam Jethroe and Marvin Williams.

History:  In a career that spanned 40 years, legendary pitcher Satchel Paige (#25) famously played anywhere he could collect a paycheck. Paige has been officially credited as playing for 17 different professional ballclubs in five different countries. However, Paige is most associated with his time playing for the Kansas City Monarchs. In particular while playing in this uniform and leading the Monarchs to their ninth league pennant and second Negro World Series title in 1942.

History: Arguably the Negro Leagues' all-time greatest team, the Monarchs won five consecutive Negro National League championships during the 1920s. Jackie Robinson was on the 1945 squad when he was first scouted by Branch Rickey of the Brooklyn Dodgers.
